Otway Basin (Australia)
Gas Projects in Development
CalEnergy is actively involved in both exploration and production in the Otway Basin, located in the offshore waters off the southeastern tip of mainland Australia at the western approaches to Bass Strait.

CalEnergy has working interests of 5 percent in the Vic/P43, T34/P and T/30P exploration permits, as well as a 5 percent interest in the Otway Gas Project, which includes the producing Thylacine gas field and the Geographe gas field, which is pending development.

Integrated exploration activity in all three exploration permits is ongoing. This has included the acquisition of significant amounts of 3D and 2D seismic data, as well as the reprocessing of vintage data. Several prospects have been identified.

An exploration well to test the Razorback prospect, which straddles the border of the T/34P and T/30P permits, is scheduled to be drilled in the T/34P permit towards the end of 2009.
